Community Development is a multi-disciplinary department providing a range of planning and development services to citizens, appointed boards, and commissions.  Our Department ensures that all development is consistent with State Law, Building Codes, the General Plan and Development Code. We work together to protect life and property, while improving quality of life and the environment.

  • Building Assistance Center Downtown Parking
    Bring parking stub to Building Assistance Center - Downtown counter for one hour validated parking at 725 7th Street County Parking Garage.

  • PACE Program Now Available for Clean Energy Financing in SacCounty for Homes and Businesses 
    Finance mechanism tied to the property rather than the individual to implement energy efficiency projects. Learn more about Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE). 
     
  • Sac Metro Fire District (SMFD) Considers County’s Electronic Submission of Improvement Plan System – This collaboration will make the improvement plan review process easier for customers by saving them vehicle trips and accelerating the review and approval. Once on-board, SMFD customers can choose to submit digital or paper plans. Learn about ESIPS

  • New Office Hours and Availability of WiFi - Starting November 9, 2012 the Community Development Department Permit Centers at 827 7th Street and at 4101 Branch Center Road will have new office hours, 5 days a week from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Also, WiFi will be available on first, second, and third floors of 827 7th St.
